The Centre of Excellence in Treatable Traits has developed the “Asthma in Pregnancy Toolkit” as a resource for healthcare providers and women and families, to allow for optimal asthma management during pregnancy. The purpose of this survey is to allow the Centre of Excellence in Treatable Traits to gain insight into who accesses the Asthma in Pregnancy Toolkit and how it is used. This research survey is being conducted by researchers from the University of Newcastle’s College of Medicine,
Health and Wellbeing.

We invite people over 18 who have accessed the Toolkit seeking information about asthma during pregnancy to participate in our survey. Participation in this survey is entirely voluntary.

The survey should take around 5 – 10min, and you can complete it at any time. Once you commence the survey, you will need to complete it in a single session as your data will not be saved.

You can choose to complete the survey anonymously, and the responses you provide will not be identifiable. Alternatively, if you choose to provide your name and contact details at the end, these will be saved with your survey answers so that we may contact you at a later date to see whether you have continued to use the Asthma in Pregnancy Toolkit and whether it has changed your understanding of asthma during pregnancy and clinical practice.

Participating in this survey will assist in the continued improvement of the Asthma in Pregnancy Toolkit and future translation and implementation activities. The information will be collated and analysed and may be presented in academic publications, at conferences or in articles.

Results will also be published on the Breathing for Life Website (https://www.breathingforlife.com.au) and/or Centre for Research Excellence in Treatable Traits website (https://treatabletraits.org.au after
July 2023. Individual participants will not be identifiable in any of the outputs generated from the research project, but individual anonymous responses may be quoted.

The survey is being hosted on the Asthma Toolkit website (using WordPress software) on a server based in Sydney, Australia. Data collected from the survey forms is stored within the database of the website and emailed to the project investigators at AsthmaInPregnancy@newcastle.edu.au. An ongoing security plan is in place (https://oxwebdevelopment.com.au), which includes the use of Wordfence Security – a WordPress firewall and security scanner to ensure that the database’s access remains secure.
